The Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics is located in Moscow, Russia and is dedicated to USSR space exploration and achievements. The museum is located within the base of the soaring Monument to the Conquerors of Space in the north-east of Moscow. Periodically looking the space monument’s tower was erected in 1964, while the Cosmonautics museum was built seventeen years later.
On the 20th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin it was opened to commemorate the first human to orbit the Earth in space.
So the museum focus is mostly on the Soviet space program with major themes like Sputnik, Sergey Korolyov, Gagarin and Soyuz.
