Well I’m not sure about that since some linguists have a thesis that Slavic language is actually a pidgin language, and that thesis is based obviously on reasons that Slavic language always had borrowed words (by “always” they of course mean – since it can be traced) and it’s not so big deal to borrow a name of mythical creature… but of course that’s not really important, to me it’s just a funny guessing
