Deep Stalagmite Mine Of Samara

Samara gallery dubbed Sokskimi, people used to mine limestone here – mountain drilled deeper and deeper into and out rubble trolleys. This occurred in the 40-60-ies of the last century and the whole workplace operated simultaneously and later these mines were abandoned. More precisely, over time a lot of land allotted for the quarry, so to grow in breadth has been impossible due to deep mountains to the level of the Volga, so if they wanted to dig deeper – they had to have a water pump, which was expensive and troublesome. So this mine was abandoned and they decided rather to blow up another mountain, more so due to a fact there is a lot of mountains nearby. Our blogger varodom decided to visit this time a second system – shorter, but with stalagmites. Story via yarodom
