Tatra mountains are the highest mountain range in the Carpathian Mountains and they are protected by law by the establishment of the Tatra National Park, Poland, which entered in UNESCO’s World Network of Biosphere Reserves. Either way if you visit this area you will have a lot to see and enjoy.

Note: It’s great to visit Zakopane during winter as well, maybe you won’t be hiking but you will be skiing.
