Andrew Cyrus Kamchatka, an adventurer, blogger and traveler was able to capture a very interesting scene, just a few meters from wild bears. In the natures sanctuary came a scientist from Germany to study the habits of these wild bears. Luckily for our Cyrus, these Kamchatka bears have been accustomed to tourists long time ago, so many come to the river start to take photo-shoots and bears don’t give them any attention at all as if they don’t even exist. Still no matter that, these are wild bears so this scientist got rather “lucky” because they were just a few meters from him so you will understand why he is luckily.
When he was asked “How does it feel?” He just frankly admitted that it was scary as hell because he was lucky that the bear was calm, well-fed and accustomed to tourists. These neat little nature photo shooting took place in August so at that period it was the peak of the spawning salmon so bears enjoy gorging themselves on fish.
They have no interest in people as far as feeding comes. Thought with rare exceptions it happened in May or June, when a hungry bear came, then things might have turned out differently … But to understand what’s going in their head, even in well-fed bear is not possible so they are always dangerous.
Our scientist spoke with a very experienced huntsman on this subject, and he said that he does not trust the bear for a second, as if no one looked tenderly. More info: fishki
