Basically, ‘ŭ’ is used in Belarusian where Ukrainians and Russians would use ‘v’ or ‘l’. Poles would use ‘Ł’

For exampl, Russians would say polniy (full) or zavtra (tomorrow). Belarusians would say poŭny or zaŭtra respectively.

Sound denoted by ‘ŭ’ is frequently used in Belarusian speech.
