Another variation of the recipe is to use nettle/Krapiva/pokrzywa instead of sorrel. I reаd about people using nettle in cooking but I never tried it. As funny as it may look Sorrel is used in soup making. I don't think it's any worse than spinach.
I won't eat nettle even if someone would told me how it's prepared (in details) and why it isn't dangerous at all.
Boiled water kills the stings.
Anyway, it tastes basically like wet, slimy, spicy spinach, i.e. not very good.
