In Czech Republic there is something similar to Draniki. We call it bramboráky (brambora = potato) and in addition to your recipe we put in that potato "dough" also milk, caraway seeds, marjoram and garlic. You can it it alone or with sauerkraut and smoked meat:-) I think that other west slavs have also their variants.

Belarusians love sauerkraut and smoked meats. There are so many so-called old recipes of sauerkraut being passed on.  :)
