Nah, it’s a common Balkan thing and we all have examples like the one I posted, no matter whether we’re arguing with Greece or not. Besides, it isn’t really all that new either – IIRC, even in medieval times the Slavic translations (I think it was the second, i.e. the Serbian one) of the Alexandriada considered Sashe Velikiot as one of their own (i.e. Slavic). Likewise, we also claimed the Myrmidons of Achilles back then and so on and so forth. True, such ancient times could be excused due to the lack of a developed historiography, but then again, modern Balkan historiography isn’t all that developed as well (even world historiography isn’t on the level it should be).
