@Dušan, that’s all very interesting but I don’t see how it invalidates the fact that Croatians like when guests at least attempt to communicate (basic phrases) in Croatian. Again, its appreciated. You were talking about Slavonia anyway which isn’t a place in Croatia guests frequent like they do the coast line. I can joke all day about “Croatianisms” when it comes to nationalistic humor but some people, especially in Eastern Slavonia, may not be as open to joking around with a Serb as others. I wish it was different, I hope people can forgive and move on with optimism in the future but it takes some longer than others (for understandable reasons);). Anyway, thanks for unique perspective coming from Serbia.
