the fact that especially dolnoserbski is quite close to polish fooled me, but yes, they indeed arent lechitic, so their situation is similar to belarusian and eastern slovak; not lechitic but quite close. we may categorize them as "pseudo-lechitic" (while respecting and not denying their agreed scientific classification).

Yes, Russian, Czech and Slovak would be more understandable to average Serb. But, like I wrote somewhere before, (Slavic part of) ancestors of Serbs split from Sorbs before disintegration of Proto-Slavic. :) Anyway you are right, after 1400 years of intermixing, migration etc there is no strong connection, save things which are common to all Slavs. :)
