I agree that Eurovision songs are generally awful and this type of music is not my preferred type of music. :/ However, this song contest remains popular across Europe and even the world. If it has to exist, I always hope for a Slavic winner just for the attention.

Of course, I would love a European song contest where the contestants sang in their native languages, dressed in national folk dress, and performed folk-inspired songs using musical instruments native to their country of origin. I don’t see that happening, sadly. 

Bulgaria’s entry this year is a major improvement over Ukraine’s 2007 entry, which unbelievably attained SECOND PLACE. WHAT MADNESS! Crazy that happened.  :p

Sounds to me like Verka is singing “Russia Good-bye.” ;) Anyway, if Polka music and Disco music married and had a baby, it would be this song.
