EU is a good idea, overall, but it must be managed better. It is spilling over too much to the smaller countries. The dynamic of the Slavic economies is much different from the Western ones. The Brits, the French, and the Germans are used to large economies, but the Slavic side still has to catch up and grow. Thus, putting it all to the standard of the Franco-German motor, the economic heart of the EU, needs to be done patiently. Better to have a free-trade zone and then group similar economies into sectors. The full "Union" is still a ways off and the recent turmoil did not help speed it up.

Also, given the recent turmoil, Slavic economies should seriously consider alternatives to the EU. European economic cooperation can happen in many ways.
