Orthodox and pagan in Belarus lived next to each side by side. How could the hate each other if the fought Tatars, Teutons , Muscovites side by side?  Northern Belarus didn’t become Christian for some time. Our earliest rulers were baptised into Orthodoxy, Lithuanian dukesCatholicism keeping pagan names to negotiate between pagan Balts, Orthodox Ruthenians, Catholic population to negotiate. They were politically wise.  These were Gedyminas, Algirdas, Jageillo, Svidrigailo, Vytautas, Kęstutis  and their brothers. But yes, we didn’t like Muscovites in much of the history, who were also Orthodox.
