In Europe after the 1700s , as I see it, people cared less and less about religion substituted it with some form of spirituality. I don't like christianity personally but my biggest objective annoyance with abrahamic religions is that they have a very rigid dogma which is old-fashioned, stunts mental and societal development, and can be rather dangerous.

Thankfully, most europeans are not 'true' christians and only loosely follow some customs for the sake of tradition. That's why I like this neopagan movement. It offers you tradition, spirituality, and fun but without any unnecessary of destructive dogma.

Just like good ol' roman paganism  :)
