Harbin was an international city for around 50-60 years between 1900-1960 after railway was built to Russia in 1898 . Majority were Russians, especially after white Russian escaped October revolution of 1917. There were Chinese and Manchus, Poles, Ukrainians, Jews, Estonians, Latvians , Estonians, Germans , Tatars, Japanese and everyone else.
