According to Russian wikipedia the symbol was invented by Stanislaw and he called it a ‘sloneczko’. The symbol became known as ‘kolovrat’ after Russian neo-pagans and neo-nazis started calling it that in 1990s. I guess that makes sense. In Bosnian a kolovrat is a spinning wheel and in Russian, AFAIK, a коловорот is a brace (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brace_(tool)) so I guess the word was re-appropriated for that variant of the swastika (which I think is the academic name for that symbol).
