Kolovrat (turning wheel) is a different form of solar symbol. I suspect it may have been made up by a Polish painter in 1923 in the form we see it today . This is drawn picture and text from that book (1923)
The słoneczko (symbol of the Sun) and the pazdur (a gable-ornament
symbolizing lightning), those still existing symbols of the faith of our
forefathers, were carved by the primitive artist on wooden columns and
placed as monuments (engr.7 and in the żalnik, the last resting-place
of the ashes of the departed, that the dead Slav might have above his
grave the symbols of his faith, the symbols of eternal life.
There were many symbols of the sun which people adored in the past. Kolovrat may not have been one of them.
