That's a good question. It's the result of both intellectual realization that man is a social animal and needs to follow certain rules as well as a desire for independence.

Do you also perceive Him as the only, real God and creator or just as another tribal idol that just evolved a lot, i. e. only as a cultural phenomenon (false idol)?

Because your last post opened a lot of questions, so i am curious.

The idea of God has evolved. For the early Hebrews it might've been that of a tribal god, much like the gods of the peoples around them, yet the perception and nature of God are two different things.
