A minor correction – “shteme” is plural in the West. The Eastern and literary form doesn’t have the E at the end, unless the singular form ends on M – f.e. barzam->barzame, but govorya->govorim. Interestingly enough, it seems most people nowadays use the Western form (govorime) in everyday speech – probably an influence of the Shoppish hinterland on the Sofia population and from there – on the media and the rest of the country.

And, indeed, I think it’s “dati”, though “dast” does sound familiar as well (in a medieval context).
