@sviatogor, it’s more like america that’s what you describe. Russian terrirtories, people, etc, are not bigger than american, or others in the world. Russia wants to take care of itself, that’s right and good.
As for terrirtorial expansion, america is also interested in that. Why do they have such a presence in Europe, and so much influence over UK culture (which willingly throws its own away)? All so far away from its own shores. I also don’t understand Polish fascination and trust with america.
It is natural to expand and it’s a form of protection, too. A culture can be lost, wiped away, disappear altogether and no-one outside of a small area would ever remember. America is in no danger of such loss, so it’s not necessary for it now, but Russia’s history shows it does, and Europe’s too.
