I am posting traditional recipes of dishes people prepared in the past or rural areas today. I don’t think many people are prepared to eat so much animal fat, butter, cream, sour-cream, pork nowadays. People tend to have more vegetables, fruits and fish in their diets. Modern soups are thinner too in comparison to what farmers ate in the past, who were doing a lot of physical work. Take a look at traditional recipe of Zhur. It’s a calorie bomb. ))

This is traditional porridge from corn flour made in Transcarpathia , western Ukraine. The region in which many Rusyns live.
