Ukraine doesn’t do much to clean the land around Chernobyl. Neither does Russia in affected regions of Briansk oblast – the land bordering south-eastern Belarus and north-western Ukraine. Ukraine is experiencing many problems in rural areas . People are escaping Ukrainian villages settling in cities due to lack of funding schools, hospitals, rural infrastructure and lack of employment opportunities. Belarus had done the most in cleaning up the areas affected by the accident . Some immigrants from former soviet republics settled the villages in southern Belarus that were left by people after Chernobyl accident.
