I’m going to see Konevets Quartet at my late grandfather’s Orthodox Church. Maybe I should just convert to Orthodoxy, I’ve been visiting there so many times this year. IDK.
Join us for an evening of Russian Folk and Church Music !
The Konevets Quartet, under the direction of Igor Dimitriev, was founded by the graduates of the St. Petersburg Music Conservatory in July 1992 with the goal of sharing the rich Russian vocal traditions with its audience. The Quartet takes its name from the Konevets Island and Monastery, outside of St. Petersburg.
A free-will Offering will be collected and CDs will be available for purchase.
A few of their songs.
Beautiful rendition of Our Father.
Serbian Chant. There are many Balkan region parishioners at the church. (Serbia, Bulgaria, Macedonia, in addition to East Slavic.)
