@Karpivna in my family we do it with brener. I don’t know the English word for it, it’s a extension attached to a butane tank, a hand held burner I guess. Anyway we place peppers on the grill and roast them with it’s open flame. The result is the same as with other, more popular techniques.
EDIT: but this thing seems useful for small amounts of vegetables.
