A bit off topic, but I thought of something when you brought up the Slovacko region. There are other regions in the Czech Republic named after certain ethnic groups or other traits (Valassko – Vlachs, Chodsko – Chodove). The Tabor area is called Kozacko. I understand kozak is Czech for “cossack”. What do the cossacks have to do with that area of South Bohemia? Any idea?
