Yes, our food in the South can be fantastic. In Texas we have the best of both the Southwest and the Deep South. Barbecue – beef, pork, chicken, Tex-Mex, and even better, authentic Mexican food like al pastor, barbacoa, menudo, etc…we have fantastic “country cooking” or “soul food” as well: chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, etc. Oh, and lots of really good Czech, Polish, and German sausage. I just had lunch, but I think I could go again, hahaha
