@srdceleva all records mentioning Slavs were written by foreigners, often enemies. The fact that they talk about unusual hospitality and treatment of prisoners says something, but of course, every village has it’s own customs. The sources who do speak of human sacrifice among Slavs mention only Rus’, but they aren’t contemporary. You’re comparing Slavs to some stone age cultures on other side of the world. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not living in denial believing that all of my ancestors were honest and good people, I mean when you just do the numbers and see how many ancestors you had in given historical period, you know there must’ve been some horrible people among them. I just don’t think there’s evidence to support such practices of Slavs. When it comes to Europeans being killed by natives, meh, maybe the word traveled faster than the “explorers”.
