Indeed, I’ve heard every single thing she mentioned used about Bulgaria and Eastern Europe as a whole.
And I’m wearing sweatpants (or anzug, as we call the full suit) right now, but would never even think about going out in public with them. Heck, when I was a kid living in the city, I’d change clothes even to just go take out the trash (i.e. about 25 metres walk). Things are a bit more relaxed in the rural areas, of course (especially for guys indeed), but you still gotta look good (or at least presentable). It’s like we’re completely focused on the first part of that saying about “po drehite posreshtat, po uma izprashtat”.
