@Sviatogor I know, it has same archaic meaning here too. In fact in our anthem, God of Justice there’s a verse:
Bože spasi, Bože hrani srpske zemlje, srpski rod!
God save, God protect Serbian lands, Serbian kind. It’s usually translated to English as
God, our hope; protect and cherish, Serbian lands and Serbian race!
Serbian “original” anthem was Vostani Serbije ( Востани Сербiє – Arise Serbia, Ustani Srbijo in Serbian), which is written in Slavonic-Serbian and it has a lot of Russian influences, or better said Church Slavonic influences that remained in Russian and not in spoken Serbian over time.
