It depends on a dog and wolf strengths. One-to-one probably , I mean probably, a good guard dog, well trained dog, will win.

But against a pack of wolves (4-5) one guard dog (no matter , how large is the dog) has no chance. Wolves are resilient. So tough and persistent. Have the strongest bite  -check any sources, if you don’t believe me. Wolves are well organised in their attacks with a killer instinct. A guard dog in the wild will have no chance.
