I know much about wolves. If they can’t kill an animal right away, they will circle it biting its limbs circling it around. It may go for hours until the animal is exhausted and dropped to the ground. Then, wolves will rip it apart in minutes.
I don’t have statistic for wolves . I have statistic for wild dogs of Africa, that are similar in size and social organisation to those of wolves. They have the highest (65%) killing rate in African Savannah. Compare that to lions , which is about 25%-30% rate during their hunts, or any animal.
Sorry! But wolves are stronger than dogs. In saying this guard dogs have had a purpose. Either to kill a single wolf, to scare wolves away, to warn the owner of danger.
