These two breeds of dogs are very similar. Since Chodský pes is couple of centuries older it is rather possible that Deutscher Schäferhund has some Chodský blood? In fact even the man responsible for development of Deutscher Schäferhund has Slavic surname. He is Max von Stephanitz. Considering he was born in Dresden which is near ethnic Sorb and Czech border it is possible that he acquired Chodský dog's altho Chodove is far from there i think it was no problem.

For me Chodský pes sounds much better.
Funny thing is hud pes = sharp dog
Most German speaking people believe hud=Hund/Dog
