    What are some of the more known local deities, spirits, creatures, etc. that aren't universal for all Slavs? For example, in Poland there was Złota Baba, Karzełek/Skarbnik, Boginki, in Russia there was Alkonost, Gamayun, Sirin, Šubin, in Serbia there was Zduhać, Stuhać, Bauk, in Slovenia there was Zlatorog, Čatež, Kurent, Kresnik…

    I know there is a big thread on Slavic deities, but it is a generic thread and lists a lot of completely unknown gods and other beings (Proven? Musail? Lugovik?), and I am more interested in localized deities and other beings that are at least somewhat known today due to folk tales, folk customs, legends, literature, movies, etc.

    Maybe this could be merged with that thread, though…



    Small correction: I mean Šišiga instead of Šubin.
