This is not a new discovery, in fact few years old but I am not sure it was meantioned here before. Video is on Croatian, so only south Slavs will understand. Roughly near my hometown Split, in place called Zrnovnica, which is also known by its toponyms of 3 mountain tops named after Perun. The catholic church of st. Mary is built on top of holy site, and there is wall preserved from 8th century and stone carving which historians claim represents Perun killing Veles in form of bear. It was believed stone represents st. Jure, but during compare with Russian Perun figures they concluded it is indeed presentation of old Slavic god Perun.September 27, 2012 at 2:01 pm #398475
