Happy Rudolf Maister day to you all!

Today is the day when we remember general Rudolf Maister, his fighters and the fights for the Slovene northern border in Styria and Carinthia. General Maister was a great soldier and poet who made sure Maribor stayed in Slovenia. At the end of ww1 he found himself in a difficult possition but still had enough reason to raise a patriotic army and fight German Austria. Thanks to him the border with Austria in Styria is almost completely the same as the ethnic border. Perhaps, if the government in Ljubljana would have listened and cooperated a bit more, we'd also have a bigger peace of Carinthia and not so many Slovenes would stay outside the mother country. But that's a different story already …
    Slava Maistru!
