Former YU was so powerful that the ‘big bosses’ were so scared of it that they did everything to destroy it. How they managed is a long story. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have even bothered, let alone wasted their time and hearts on hating such a trifle thing from such a ‘trifle’ country. YU FOREVER IN <3!

Thats the exuse that people used for the breakdown of Yugoslavia. How people voted for independence in all yu-states? Some big boss told them or they thought it would be much better if they become independent states? I think still the problem is inside than outside. Someone just “used a lighter in room full of gasoline”

I never knew Yugoslavia were manufacturing cars. Czechoslovakian cars Škoda and motorbikes Jawa were well known in part of the world. Particularly the Jawa bike. And Hungarian made buses Ikarus.

By far not the crappiest car in the world, too.

There’s tons of candidates for that spot, depending on how you define “car” – i.e do tricycle “cars” with motorcycle engines count etc, but, sticking to the slavic theme and “real” cars I’d say ZAZ 968 was a crappier car.

    ZAZ 968

I’d second the choice. But this one is even worse. It had motorbike engine. : https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%A1%D0%9C%D0%97_%D0%A13%D0%94

There was an old make of this type of car that had 3 wheels : https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%A1%D0%9C%D0%97_%D0%A11%D0%9B

Well, yes, but those were invalid cars, so not a fair comparison. The Brits had some amazingly crappy cars too, not in the way of defects but in the “what were the designers even thinking?” sense.

You’re well aware of life in USSR. :) Those type of cars were indeed intended for disabled people. There were many disabled people in USSR after WWII ended. S authortiies designed cheap cars for them. Regardless, the cars were cheap and crap.I would have designed the best possible cars for war veterans if it was up to me.

I am not sure if Soviet made ‘invalid cars’ can be considered as proper cars. This is the car I was talking about

ZAZ 986 was definitely a car. It was manufactured in Zaporizhia , Ukraine. The cost 3,500 rubles in 80s. For a comparison, the cost of Lada was around 10,000 ruble. GAZ-24 (Volga) – 16,500 rubles

@Sviatogor all those socialist cars were low in quality. However it was never about quality, but affordability :D
