Slavic Clothing Shawl Production

Slavic shawls are deeply intertwined with Slavic nations and their culture. Shawls sort of like headscarves but they are not usually being worn on the head, but rather wrapped around the body, both in colors or single toned warm woolen ones. You will find many various national variants between the Slavic countries from Russia to Poland to Bulgaria to Serbia to Croatia and all other Slavic countries. Simple googling of Wikipedia says “A shawl is a simple item of clothing, loosely worn over the shoulders, upper body and arms, and sometimes also over the head. It is usually a rectangular or square piece of cloth, that is often folded to make a triangle but can also be triangular in shape. Other shapes include oblong shawls.” So we can conclude that the shawl is popular in India and Iran as well as Russia and other Slavic countries, this may be due to common indo-European origin of European, Indian and Iranian nations. However, among Slavs there is a whole tradition of shawls which is dating from our folklore and inspecting any archeological proof or paintings  you will see they were a part of our culture from long time ago.
