However for administrative purposes it is in the Yalta municipality of Crimea. The name Ai-Petri originates from Greek, and is has meaning as St. Peter (Greek: Άγιος Πέτρος). This peak is also one of the windiest locations in Crimea as the harsh wind blows for 125 days a year, and at times reaching a high speed of 50 m/s (110 mph). The peak is located above the city of Alupka and the town of Koreiz.
