UFC comes to Russia! For the first time in the history of UFC it will take place in Russia on 15th September.For those who is not aware of what UFS is: it’s the most influential and prestigious promotion in MMA (mixed martial arts) industry. Regarding to this upcoming event we’d like to present top 7 Slavic MMA athletes.
1) Fedor Emelianenko «The Last Emperor»

He is an outstanding Russian fighter of mixed martial arts; multiple world champion in MMA according to the versions of “PRIDE” and “RINGS”; Honored Master of Sports, sevenfold Russian champion and fourfold world champion in combat sambo; master of sports of international class in judo. He was undefeated for over 10 years. By the opinion of famous athletes and experts he is the best MMA fighter ever. But the years take their toll and as a result Fedor lost several fights over the past 3 years. Now he continues his sport career and he’s gonna have a fight this November. Let’s see how it turns.
2) Mirco Filipovich «СroCop»

Mirko Krokop is a Croatian MMA fighter who is famous not only for serious sports achievements, but also for his political activities, and also for his rather eccentric actions. However, for sports fans, Mirko will forever remain a multiple champion of tournaments, as well as the owner of the strongest left foot kick, which has become “crowning strike” for the fighter.
3) Stipe Miocic

Stipe Miocic is an American fighter of mixed martial arts of Croatian origin. Currently, he fights in the leading MMA organization of the world, UFC. Former UFC heavyweight champion. His one and only UFC fighter in history who managed to defend the title in heavyweight 3 times in a row. Despite his high social level, he remains a modest guy, working as a firefighter in his free time.
4) Andrey Orlovsky «Pitbull»

Andrey is from Belarus currently living in the USA. He is the eleventh champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship in Heavyweight. His fights are never boring. He conducts fights in an aggressive and attacking manner, and it’s one of the reason of missed strikes and a KO (knock out) that sometimes happen to him. He acted in some movies, like “Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning”,”8 of Diamonds” and some others. Andrey is a real dog lover, he has a pitbull named Maksimus.
5) Oleg Taktarov «The Russian Bear»

Oleg is the pioneer and the first Slavic Slavic UFC champion. He started performing in early 1990s. After fighting for twenty-four fights in mixed martial arts on the rings of the USA and Japan, Taktarov gained wide popularity, primarily due to his victory in the sixth tournament of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in 1995. In the ring (cage) the fighter was distinguished by the calmness, skill of grappling and submission techniques. As well as Andrei Orlovski Taktarov participated in Hollywood movies.
6) Alexey Oleinik «Boa Constrictor»

He was born in 1977 in the city of Kharkov, Ukraine. Alexey can be easily called guru of world-class grappling. He won in 2007 in Rostov on Don performing for “Legion Fight Team”, where he applied a very rare and defficult technique called “suffocation of Ezekiel”. Now it’s his crowning technique. In 2013 he defeated famous Mirko Filipovich. This victory draw attention of many international promotions. Consequently he signed a contract with UFS. He’s gonna take part in the upcoming tournament in Moscow, where he’ll meet Mark Hunt.
7) Alexander Emelianenko

Alexander is Fedor’s brother and a very talanted fighter. He always fights in an open and agressive manner. Once he was defeated by Marco Filipovich and later, his brother Fedor, met with Marco in the ring. Fedor won by the judges’ decision. Alexander is very notorious person, known for his scandals. He even served some time in prison. Nevertheless he continues performing for “Akhmat” club.
