Traditional Protection From Viruses and Colds

Today we rely a lot on modern medicine in form of pills and supplements and essentially there is nothing wrong with that because this after all is our advance in technology. However, sometimes we do over-do-it and keep popping pills when there are actually natural remedies that can help us equality and don’t pose any threat to us. We don’t advise you to use only natural medicine, always visit your doctor to get best recommendation to treat your illness!

We just want to list a few things that our Slavic ancestors used and kept their health in check:

Recipe 1. Ginger tea

In the cold season, be sure to add in a pinch of tea ginger powder (can be even more). It is more effective if you add in the tea a fresh ginger root. A small piece, the size of a thumbnail, chop it nicely and add to a cup of tea. The water temperature should be 80 ° C, you can gradually increase the heath. You can add a couple of slices of lemon tea. Be sure to drink this in the morning and in the evening when you come home from work. This tea is useful to young and old. Remember, ginger powder works weaker than the fresh root.

Recipe 2. Pickled Foods

In winter it is especially helpful to eat leavened (fermented) products. This is precisely what our ancestors did, they were a good judge when to preserve some food for winter in order to fill your body with vitamins and minerals that can’t be found during winter. Especially useful sauerkraut with cranberries and cloudberries, wild garlic and pickled apples. These products allow our ancestors to keep the immune system in good condition during the cold period in the midst of epidemics.

Recipe 3. Garlic

Daily Eating of garlic in the evening is something our ancestors always did. It is not only known practice among Slavs, but it was also very popular among Greeks and Romans too. This was their daily dose for immune system.

Recipe 4. Increases Immune system

Mix half a cup of carrot and cranberry / lemon juice. In the resulting mixture, add 1 tablespoon of honey. Take 1 tablespoon before bedtime.

Recipe 5. Spruce recipe

Great vitamin drink to raise the body’s defenses. 2 tablespoons of pine needles wash and boil in 1 cup of drinking water for 15-20 minutes on low heat. During the boiling pot, close the lid. After boiling, remove the pan from the heat and, without removing the lid, give the drink a little brew in a warm place. Then strain and drink. Before use, you can add a little of the brine from sauerkraut or a teaspoon of honey.
